Baccarat
Baccarat is a casino game conducted in a grandiose atmosphere.
While it may attract the well-dressed high-roller,
baccarat is a simple game of chance that involves no skill
on the part of the player or dealer.
In
Europe, the elegant game of baccarat is one of the most popular
casino games.

It has long held the attention of gamblers and an early version,
dating from the Middle Ages, was played with Tarot cards.
Baccarat may have originated in Italy around 1490, but by
the 1700s it had become the game of choice for the French
nobility.
Eventually baccarat evolved into European baccarat
and the French game chemin de fer.
Baccarat Rules
The objective of Baccarat is to predict which of the two hands dealt (Banker or Player) will be closer to a value of 9.
In Baccarat the player competes against the banker. Wagers are placed in the Tie, Banker and Player areas shown on the table.
Cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe.
Traditionally, the shoe contains anywhere from six to eight standard 52-card deck without jokers.
Two hands of cards are dealt, one for the Player and one for the Banker.
Each hand will contain either two or three cards.
The value of the cards is as follows:
10, J, Q, K = 0
Ace = 1
After all bets are down the dealer gives two cards each to the player and the banker.
The score of the hand is the right digit of the total of the cards.
For example if the two cards were an 8 and 7, then the total would be 15, and the score would be a 5.
The scores will always range from 0 to 9 and it is impossible to bust.
The score of the player and dealer are compared, the winner is the one which is banker.
Winning bets on the dealer pay 19 to 20 (or even money less a 5% commission), winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1, winning bets on a tie pay either 8 to 1 or 9 to 1, depending on where you play.
Regardless of whether the tie pays 8:1 or 9:1 it is a very bad bet and should be avoided.
